Basic Options for Preparation of Butchers Feast
1) To prepare Butchers Feast as a raw diet: Mix the 5# meat provided with a gallon of water, add 2# package of Butchers Feast Proprietary Dehydrated Blend and mix well, rest in the refrigerator for 24 hours to re-hydrate, then portion into containers and freeze. Should portion so food is consumed within two days of defrosting.
2) To prepare Butchers feast as a lightly cooked diet: combine meat and water and heat to 160 degrees or just below boiling point to remove any pathogens from the meat, remove from heat and add 2# package of Butchers Feast Proprietary Dehydrated Blend and mix well, rest in the refrigerator for 24 hours to re-hydrate and portion and store as above.
Note: Each unit of meat and mix prepares 18 pounds approx based on preparation used. Less water can be added to prepare in a more solid mix (recommended 14 cups)
To ensure the highest potency of the vitamins and minerals in the Butchers Feast De-Hydrated blend please combine the protein and mix with 48 hours of receiving your order.
We recommend always starting with the same basic recipe and then adding additional items to adjust for dietary or medical needs. This ensures that the required AAFCO standards for vitamins and minerals is consumed with each meal. For example add additional digestible carbohydrates to reduce Percentage of protein in the diet or add cooked eggs to increase protein percentage.
